LCO Week 4 Preview: Superweek with Order, Gravitas, Pentanet

This preview proudly presented by Energizer

After four dominant weeks of play, our League boys are standing proudly atop the LCO leaderboards — not dropping a single game so far and currently three games clear of the massive clumping of teams in second place. This week we’re matched up against two of those title chasers in the LCO’s first super week of the split, and have a really solid chance to put even more space between ourselves and the competition.

Chiefs v Order (Monday 4th July, 9pm AEST)

Our first game of the week gives us the opportunity to hand out a second dose of revenge from last split’s agonisingly close defeat, and it’s an opportunity the team is ready to take with both hands. Order have put up three wins in a row, but much like ourselves in the past week’s those matches have been relative stomps against teams like Kanga, Mammoth and Gravitas. Being 2-2 against the rival teams fighting for the championship isn’t the worst, but we’re expecting Order to put up a fight tonight.

Specifically, look to the toplane as two resident legends of the lane are set to do battle. Both BioPanther and Topoon have looked dominant so far this split and the upcoming match may well swing on who gains the ascendancy. Last week Topoon scored four solokills in the thumping of Mammoth and picked up our MVP in the process — but expect a bloody matchup in the toplane for this one.

Chiefs v Gravitas (Tuesday 5th July, 8pm AEST)

We’re still yet to lose a match to Gravitas, ever, and we’re ready to push that undefeated streak to a 22nd consecutive win this week. Gravitas have been unable to pick up a win so far this split, and the plan is to continue that unfortunate streak on Tuesday. However, if they happen to score a win over Dire Wolves on Monday, that’s absolutely fine with us.

With a developing roster, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Gravitas the past few weeks. They’ve absolutely shown potential so far, but our dominant macro is likely to put us in good stead coming into the matchup. If all goes well, taking down Gravitas’ Nexus will move us to 10-0 in the split ahead of the halfway point the day after against Pentanet.GG.

Chiefs v Pentanet.GG (Wednesday 6th July, 6pm AEST)

The grudge match. The clash of the titans. Whatever you want to call it, when the Chiefs and Pentanet.GG take to the rift you can be sure you’re going to get a banger. In recent memory, we’ve had the upper hand in our matches against the inaugural LCO champs, only dropping a single round-robin match back in Split 1 before prevailing in a phenomenal best-of-five we will continue to harp on about.

With the playoff race so contested at second place, a win for Pentanet would absolutely lift them clear of the pack — but we’re not going to let that happen. What was billed as one of the hypest matches of the week when we fought earlier in the split was in fact a clinical demolishing, and the plan is to continue that to wrap up the first super week of the split. PGG will be out for revenge, but we’re confident we’ll continue our run to the championship with another win.
