The Chiefs join the League Championship Pacific as Oceanic Representative in 2025

In 2014, the Chiefs Esports Club took to the Rift for the first time, writing the first chapter in a long, storied history competing in League of Legends in Oceania. 

Now, ten years later, after claiming seven domestic championships and proudly representing the region over multiple international appearances  — the Chiefs are back, and we’re ready to take over APAC.

We’re excited to announce that the Chiefs Esports Club is officially returning to LoLEsports, representing Oceania in 2025 as part of the newly formed League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP).

Following the restructure of the global League esports ecosystem, the Chiefs will be relocating to Taiwan to participate in the LCP. There, we'll battle against the best the competition has to offer, taking on teams from Taiwan, Vietnam and Japan in our quest to be crowned the kings of APAC.

Chiefs COO Brendan Harms said on this historic moment for the organisation: “It's hard to put into words how good this feels, not just for us as an organisation but knowing OCE finally has a chance to compete consistently on the world stage to prove once and for all that we belong there. There is still a lot of work to be done behind the scenes, and the competition will be fierce, but Aussies thrive as underdogs and we can't wait to make Oceania proud." 

The LCP’s Product Manager, Ban Chee, also commented on Chiefs joining the LCP: "We’re thrilled to welcome Chiefs Esports Club back to the League of Legends esports ecosystem and into the LCP. Throughout their history, the Chiefs have been a cornerstone of Oceania, captivating fans with their dedication and talent on the world stage, which includes multiple World play-ins appearances and their consistent display of regional dominance. Their legacy embodies the strength and passion of esports in Oceania.
