Sports Entertainment Network has released its annual list of the top 25 sporting teams in Australasia, and this year we’re excited to announce that the Chiefs Esports Club has ranked fourteenth overall. The Chiefs feature on this list alongside household names such as the Brisbane Broncos, Melbourne City, and the South Sydney Rabbitohs — and we’re grateful to be placed in such esteemed company.
After a very successful year with multiple national titles in games such as League of Legends, Halo, and Rainbow Six: Siege as well as international appearances at both the League of Legends and Halo World Championships — this is a proud moment of acknowledgement for everyone at The Chiefs.
“It feels great to be acknowledged, not just for our own efforts but also for the esports & gaming industry in Australia as a whole. To be considered and featured among all these other sporting clubs that are doing great things is a great nod to how far esports has come in terms of recognition, and we will keep on doing our best to drive that awareness forward. Thanks to everyone involved in our own organization that has got us this far” said Joshua Harvey, Chief Marketing Officer at The Chiefs.

The Chiefs would like to mention that it is the support of our ongoing commercial partners that help drive the success of the club, and the growth of esports & gaming here domestically in Australia is a direct result of that.
The list which is awarded annually takes into account factors such as win percentage, competition size, and stability and is calculated across rolling 5-year periods.
