We’re pleased to announce the addition of Tommy ‘Ryoma’ Le and Richard ‘Phantiks’ Su will carry the shield in 2018. Ryoma will be our starting mid laner, while Phantiks will be our strategic coach for the next split!
Ryoma returns to the Chiefs squad after starting 2017 as a substitute for the Chiefs. Sitting behind long time mid-laner Swiffer, Ryoma later transferred to Sin Gaming, where he quickly became one of the most electrifying rookies in the region. Ryoma played a big part in Sin Gaming’s miracle gauntlet run of Split 1, where they defeated the Chiefs 3-2 and took runners-up Legacy Esports to 5 games.
From there, Ryoma earned a place at Rift Rivals, where his team defeated the 2nd and 3rd placed GPL teams before falling to Gigabyte Marines. After another solid split 2, Ryoma returns to Chiefs as the prodigal son, and will be locking down the mid laner for our 2018 campaign.
Phantiks is a name that needs no introduction. A long time starting mid laner for Dire Wolves, he has participated in the OPL since its inception in 2015, consistently placing amongst the top teams in the region. In 2017, Phantiks led the Dire Wolves to 2 OPL titles, earning MVP honours for split 2 and representing Oceania at the Mid Season Invitational and Worlds Play-Ins in 2018.
A veteran of the game, Phantiks brings strong experience and strategic knowledge, as well as a strong connection with the players, and will be a great addition to helping the new roster find its identity in 2018.
