The Chiefs Esports Club are pleased to announce that Mitchell ‘Destiny’ Shaw will carry the shield in 2018!
Destiny joins after a highly successful year playing with the Dire Wolves outfit. As the starting support, Destiny won both OPL titles in 2017 and represented our region at the Mid Season Invitational as well as Worlds play-ins.
A player not lacking in experience, Destiny has competed in the OPL since its inception in 2015 across various roles, as well as a stint in coaching. We’re positive this will prove invaluable moving forward, as he takes on a leadership role within our new playing group.
“Joining the Chiefs eSports Club was an obvious choice for me. The organisation truly cares about player development and building long-term relationships. Our goal right now hasn’t changed, despite the new look. We are aiming to qualify for Worlds, and beyond. I am looking forward to leading the next era of Chiefs and to build on the success the brand already has achieved.” – Mitchell ‘Destiny’ Shaw
“I’m excited to have brought Mitch on board as a successor to Bryce ‘EGym’ Paule’s departure. I believe he’s more than capable of filling the big shoes left behind by Bryce. Mitch has really impressed me with his leadership and people skills, as well as his dedication to personal improvement and knowledge of the game. He will be a great ambassador for our brand, as well as someone to lead the next generation of success for the Chiefs. Look forward to having him on board!” - Frank Li, owner and founder.
Destiny is currently in Seoul, South Korea in preparation for our pre-season bootcamp. You can follow him on social media here:
