Today, with a heavy heart, we announce the departure of Andrew “Rosey” Rose from the League of Legends division. Andrew has expressed a desire to play a more carry oriented role and has made it known to the team his decision to step down.
One of the original Chiefs, this ends over 600 consecutive days of our current line up, and close to 1,000 days of the Raydere/Rosey bot lane combination. Over the course of this period, the team has achieved many highs, qualifying for International Wildcards 2013 and 2015 as well was winning numerous Riot regional and other local competitions. Whilst there have been lows, our roster has stayed strong and stuck together to establish the most consistent, stable and known team in Oceania.
Following our recent disappointing International Wildcard Campaign, Andrew and the team mutually decided a change was required. We are sad to see Andrew go and wish him the best, however we are also excited for the next chapter of our story as the Chiefs.
Frank Li, owner of the Chiefs, says “This is definitely one of the most difficult times for us as a team. Andrew is not just a great member of the team, but a great friend as well. We will all be incredibly sad to see him go and take his talents elsewhere. As a player who has played every role competitively, he would be a great addition to any team and I wish him all the best in the future.”
Amy Lau, manager of the team, says “Having known Andrew as a close friend and a teammate, I can say for sure that he’ll be a great addition to any team. It’s always hard to say goodbye, but I know for sure our paths will cross again on the Rift. I wish him nothing but the best.”
No new roster changes have been finalised, as we will take time to assess our options and determine what the best option is moving forward. The team are still very determined to maintain our position as the best League of Legends team in Oceania, and be able to represent our region well at Worlds in 2015. Stay tuned to this space for a further announcement soon.
