We are excited to share with you a new chapter in our team’s storied history as we welcome aboard the Chiefs Esports Club’s brand new Rocket League squad formerly known as Alpha Sydney!

Over the past year, this trio featuring Jake, Torsos and Drippay have established themselves as the top contenders in the Oceanic Rocket League scene, taking first place at every major domestic LAN competition in the last 8 months, as well as most recently representing the Oceania region at the Rocket League Championship Series Season 2 World Championships in Los Angeles, USA. For the past month, they have competed under the name “Billy Fan Club”.

We are extremely excited to be involved in this space, as the Chiefs look to broaden our horizons in a multitude of gaming titles.  We look forward to providing a strong platform for growth for this team, as well as sharing their successes and journey with our fans!

“Rocket League is something that has always had my interest. When the game first came out, I tried my absolute hardest to play it, and it was impossible. Later I found it you’re meant to use a controller, but now I find one of the best players in Australia uses keyboard and mouse, I don’t know what to think. One of the great things about Rocket League is how easily accessible it is, to understand and follow, but on the flip side, I’ve always felt many people within the wider community underestimate just how difficult it is to pull off the things these guys do playing at such a high level.

I have a lot of admiration for the skills these boys possess, and their values of longevity, performing at a high level consistently and a strong drive for even greater success fit very well within the Chiefs culture. In a field where the domestic competition is only growing stronger, I see a lot of similarities in the challenges our other teams have faced, and I have no doubt that given the right level of support, the experience and commitment Jake, Daniel and Matt have shown, they will continue their dominance and bring success at a global level.”
