Farewell Tucks

TJ Bird | September 25, 2018

Today, we part ways with a legend in the Chiefs Esports Club, Tyler ‘Tucks’ Reilly. We want to wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours and thank him endlessly for the tireless work he has put into building our CS:GO program to where it is today.

After 3 amazing years at the club as one of our longest tenured members, a new, previously unforeseen opportunity arose for Tucks. Due to the timing and the nature of the move, and after reviewing all courses of action together, Tucks has requested a release from his playing contract with the Chiefs. We have come to an agreement to amicably and immediately release Tucks from all of his playing commitments with the club to pursue this opportunity.

“Unfortunately today I announce that this is my last day with The Chiefs Esports Club, a team that has been my home in esports since I started competing at the highest level in CS:GO. For the remainder of 2018 and beyond, I will be taking another path in achieving my goals as a player in the game I love.

I would like to give the biggest shoutout to all the players, management and partners I have played and worked with alongside the Chiefs, as we have achieved so much together over the last 3+ years; they are memories that will never be forgotten. It has been such a pleasure to work with this organisation who did absolutely everything in their power to make sure we were always in the best position to win and achieve great results. Being able to help grow The Chiefs was always an incredible feeling for me, one that I take with me into the next stage of my career.

To all the amazing Chiefs supporters, your constant love and support never went unnoticed and always helped me pick myself up If I was ever feeling down. Thank you so much, no question Chiefs has some of the best fans in the region and it was an honour to compete and play for you. Keep supporting and pushing Chiefs to greater heights. Love you all.” — Tyler ‘Tucks’ Reilly, former captain of Chiefs CS:GO.

3 years ago, Chiefs CS:GO went in what at the time was a brave new direction with the acquisition of a player with a prior VAC ban. There were many critics for and against the move, but ultimately we as the Chiefs are a player first and player oriented club. However, we saw the drive, the determination, the work ethic and the insatiable thirst for winning that Tucks had as well as his remorse for a mistake from a years past, and committed to building a strong CS:GO division and infrastructure around him and the core members of the squad with the hope that the future would be bright and certain parties would see logic in their reasoning.

We wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Best of luck at your new home, Tyler. We hope to see you again soon!
