A new year, a new Counter-Strike direction

Mike Stewart | February 3, 2020

A new year, a new Counter Strike direction. After the break up of our CS:GO roster at the end of last year with players going their separate ways it was back to the drawing board to evaluate our CS direction going into 2020. There was a team that definitely caught our attention, a team on the up and up making waves domestically in 2019. They are hungry for success and wanting to prove themselves and have now earned their spot as a top contender in ANZ CSGO.

Introducing The Chiefs Roster:

“We’re all super keen to represent such a respected and storied organisation, and hopefully with their support we’ll be able to continue climbing the ranks of OCE and start consistently competing in overseas events. I hope all our team team fans keep following us on our journey with Chiefs!” Team captain – Tom “apocdud” Henry.

This new lineup will also make the organization eligible to compete in the CSGO Major system, something that has been off the cards for our organization and fans for a while.

“We would like to thank the previous members of the Chiefs Counter Strike roster who at the end of last season decided to go their separate ways, pursue new teams or hang up the keyboard. While one chapter closes –  we are excited to start a new era with a team that has certainly worked hard throughout 2019, turned heads and made plenty of noise.” Chiefs CEO – Nick Bobir.

To the Chiefs of 2019, thank you for everything. Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best with what you are moving onto, both in and out of esports.

Bring on the rest of 2020!
