Our League of Legends division has recently returned to Australia. Over the last two weeks the team travelled to Istanbul, Turkey to participate in the International Wildcard Invitational to earn a spot at the Mid season invitational to be hosted later this month.

During the tournament we were able to pull off some solid series against formidable international competition including: INTZ e-Sports (Brazil), Beşiktaş (Turkey), and DetonatioN FocusMe (LJL).

Despite starting strong, surviving a grueling first day of over 10 hours at the venue with a 2-1 record, the Chiefs would finish group stages overall at 3-3, with wins against Latin America’s Kaos Latin Games, Brazil’s INTZ e-Sports and Japan’s Detonation Focus Me. However, due to tie breaker rulings, the Chiefs fall short of qualification for the playoff stages despite tying with Beşiktaş in overall record.

The Chiefs victorious over Japan’s DetonatioN FocusMe.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Riot, especially Riot Turkey for being an amazing host as well as the other competing international teams. But most importantly we’d like to thank all of our fans that were at home supporting us every step of the way.
