Chiefs CSGO qualify for IEM Taipei 2016

Over the weekend, Chiefs CSGO battled it out against Team Immunity in the IEM Taipei ANZ Qualifier Finals to emerge victorious after three long maps (19-17, 6-16, 16-9) to win an all-expense paid trip to Taipei, from the 29th of January to the 2nd of February.

The team will face off against seven opponents who have proved their worth in their own regional tournaments to make it to this Asia Minor. These teams include:

  • The Chiefs
  • Renegades
  • CyberZen
  • The Mongolz
  • TyLoo
  • Risky Gaming
  • MVP.karnal
  • And an eight spot to be filled by a Taiwanese team

Eight teams will compete for a $50,000 prize pool, and the winner of IEM Taipei will be invited to The IEM X World Championships in Katowice, whilst the top two from IEM Taipei will be invited to the offline qualifiers for the MLG Columbus CSGO major, which will be on the 29th of March through to the 3rd of April at MLG Columbus.
