The Chiefs announce their departure from LCO

November 3rd, 2023

The Chiefs Esports Club today announce our departure from the League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO) with a successful slot transfer to newcomers Fury Global.

Following the acquisition of Chiefs Esports club by fellow Australian organisation Team Bliss Esports, the LCO Team Participation Agreement states an organisation is not able to hold two slots in the League in order to maintain competitive integrity.

Competing since 2014, The Chiefs have been a household name in Oceanic League of Legends with 7 domestic championships and leave LCO on the back of being 3 time consecutive champions.

The Chiefs leave LCO as the most successful Australian League of Legends team in history.

Brendan Harms, Managing Director of Chiefs Esports talks about the future direction of the club saying "Although The Chiefs are saying goodbye to the LCO, we can't wait to share our upcoming 2024 plans with fans. Behind closed doors things are looking really exciting and our upcoming announcements will ensure The Chiefs Esports remains the premier Oceanic organisation."

So to all of our League of Legends fans who have supported us over the years, thankyou for everything, and #CHFWIN
